What are barrages & cakes?

If you only buy one type of firework, buy a barrage. A single cake fires anywhere from 16 to 500 shots from one fuse, which means you light it once, step back, and watch a sustained sequence rather than a single bang. That makes them far and away the best value per second of display, and it is why they take up most of the floor space in our Newry showroom.

Shot count is not the whole story. A 100-shot cake with 20mm tubes will read far bigger in the sky than a 200-shot cake with 15mm tubes, because calibre drives how high the effect breaks and how wide it spreads. We list tube size wherever the manufacturer publishes it, and if you are torn between two, ask — we fire these ourselves.

How much do barrages & cakes cost?

We stock 356 barrages & cakes priced between £9.99 and £1000, with a typical mid-range option around £90. Those are manufacturer RRPs — our counter price is confirmed in store, and buying a pack or crate usually works out keener per shot.

Do you need a licence for barrages & cakes in Northern Ireland?

Yes — barrages & cakes are among the categories that normally require a Department of Justice licence in Northern Ireland. Bring your licence and photo ID when you collect, and apply well before Halloween because processing slows through October. Read the full licence guidance.
